Swiftsure is a small, independent wine project based in South Wairarapa, on the southern coast of New Zealand’s North Island. The home vineyard, planted in 2017, lies in a rugged, wind-exposed coastal corridor, where natural extremes shape every aspect of the land. While this site is farmed regeneratively with a long-term vision, Swiftsure’s current releases focus on small parcels of estate grown fruit sourced from exceptional vineyards in Marlborough and Bannockburn.
Before establishing Swiftsure, the family spent nearly a decade working with vineyards on Waiheke Island. That experience shaped a philosophy grounded in precision, low intervention, and deep respect for the land. The vineyard is low-yielding, and managed using organic, biodynamic, and permaculture principles aimed at building soil vitality and encouraging biodiversity.
Swiftsure’s Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and Bannockburn Pinot Noir are crafted in small quantities with meticulous care. The wines are vibrant, saline, and pure—expressive of their sites and guided by an intuitive, thoughtful approach in the cellar.
